London, UK and Paris, France, September 11, 2020 The Student Loans Company (SLC) has appointed Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, to support the delivery of improvements to SLC’s customer interface and associated technology infrastructure. Atos will support the development of its Customer Enablement Services, with a focus on application development. This is the first step in a multi-part procurement process to engage strategic partners within SLC’s technology group.

In February, as part of its continued commitment to improve customer service, SLC launched a competitive procurement process to deliver a new strategic partner model. The new approach will see the organization working with a small number of partners to develop, deliver and support its technological heritage and digital services to customers.

The ambitious program will transform the business framework and delivery models used across SLC’s technology park when working with strategic partners, developing enhanced capabilities while delivering better value for money.

Stephen Campbell, CIO at SLC mentionned: “We were greatly encouraged by the range and strength of response from bidders in the first round of this procurement process. The appointment of Atos is the first step in this process as we embark on an ambitious approach to work with a small number of strategic partners to develop, deliver and support our technological heritage and digital services.

“This process reflects our commitment to improving the experience for our customers and we look forward to progressing with further purchases in the months to come. “

Clay Van Doren, CEO, Atos UK and Ireland mentionned: “We are excited about the prospect of our new approach to strategically partnering with Student Loans Company to achieve the transformation of customer interface systems that we seek. This will improve its service and overall offering while ensuring that value is consistently delivered. “

Together with its partners from the Ministry of Education, Decentralized Administrations and Cabinet Office, SLC has developed a procurement strategy that provides the most appropriate and compliant public sector route to market for each batch. of the program, depending on the complexity and stability of the services covered. The second supply is expected to hit the market later in September 2020.
